The Best Golf Swing Drills
I just wanted to explain a few of the best drills that you can use in order to perfect your golf swing. The type of golf drills that I approve of are the ones that do not force you to use a golf club right away. It’s best to be able to focus in on what your body is doing during the golf swing.
A drill that you can perform is to stand with your feet apart, pretending that you are holding a golf club in front of you. Now take a practice swing and you will notice that your body has to rotate in order to keep the palms of your hands together. Try to ensure that you keep your elbows the same distance apart throughout this practice swing.
There is a drill that emphasizes the arc formed by the arms that is called the inner circle golf swing drill. All that is required is for you to swing an imaginary club remarking the arc that is formed by the arms. You will notice that the arc continues even after the imaginary golf ball. Then when you are playing a round of golf, try to ensure that that large arc is still present during your golf swing.
Using only one arm during your swing is a great drill to practice for any golfer. If you are right-handed, you will use just your left hand in this drill. By using only one arm, you will learn how to transfer your power from the back to the front without killing the ball.
A strong golf drill is one that improves your ability to pitch or to chip the golf ball that is close to the hole. Many players focus in on only their drives when practicing. I feel that the short game is hugely important. Try hitting about 5 balls to the hole from about 50 yards away. If you are able to get at least three of them without a foot of the hole, move forward to the following hole.
A drill that forces you not to hit down on the golf ball is the drag drill. What is involved is to drag the clubhead of the golf club through the point of impact of the golf ball. You just have to make sure that you are turning your hips so that your belt buckle is pointing towards the target area. This drill is crucial since it is what is going to force you to focus on the target area by pushing the ball towards it.
To make it easier for you to develop a consistent swing in golf, I recommend that you practice often the following golf drill. Instead of trying to speed up your golf swing, slow it down and count to three slowly between the different phrases of the swing. For instance, at the count of one, you should be performing your backswing. This drill for golfers will help you to realize that a golf swing has different parts to it. This knowledge will allow you to repeat each separate section of your swing which will cause it to become more consistent.
