Whether you travel using air flights, luxury cruises, trains, buses, or rental cars on your vacations and holidays, you are probably curious and want to know what’s new and cool in vacation and holiday travel accessories.

If you would like to know what travel accessories are available to make your trip easier, more comfortable, and safer, here are some great products. These items should be available at most luggage and travel accessories stores.

What are compression bags and can they save a lot of space in your travel luggage?

If you use space savings plastic compression bags when packing your clothes, you can save up to 80% more space in your luggage. They can be used over and over again for many years of easy packing.

How does a non-slip security wallet work?

One accessory you should consider purchasing is the non-slip security travel wallet. It’s about the size as a regular wallet but has non-slip rubber on one side which catches on the inside of your pocket if it accidentally slips out of your pocket, or if a thief attempts to pick your pocket. Always put your wallet in a front pocket. Never carry your wallet in your back pocket. Professional thieves call it “the sucker pocket”.

Here is a great trick! You can change your wallet into a non-slip wallet by putting a couple of wide elastic bands around it. Another solution that will help with the problem of pickpockets is a chain-equipped security wallet which can be attached to your belt.

The secret waist wallet is a wallet that compliments the non-slip travel wallet. It fits nicely under your shirt or blouse, but is still easily accessible. It is not a good idea to lift your shirt or blouse up and open this wallet in public as you never know who is watching, like a would be pickpocket, or robber. It is best to open it discretely where no one can see you doing it, such as in a public washroom stall.

A leather money belt that has a zippered, concealed pocket on the inner side of it, is a great security travel product. You can hide a key, paper money, or small foldable documents in the secure, zippered pocket.

There are stay-up, elastic security socks that have a concealed, zippered pocket on the inside of each one of a pair of these socks. These socks would be extremely difficult for a pickpocket to get at.

Another unique accessory is the RFID blocking passport document holder. This radio frequency identification holder helps to protect your passport and other documents that can be electronically compromised from snooping data-stealing hackers.

Combination and key accessible combo luggage locks make it possible for custom’s officials to unlock your checked luggage for inspection with special skeleton keys, then lock your luggage up again. You then can dial the combination and you can open your luggage. This can save you a lot of time and money replacing regular locks that custom’s agents had to break to gain entry to inspect your luggage. Another great plus with these combo locks is that you don’t have any keys to worry about losing or replacing.

You can carry a battery-operated, personal security alarm that emits a loud, shrill sound that can help scare off a mugger or robber. Another product that is less costly and will produce the same effect is a referee’s sports whistle, which you can hide under your shirt or blouse, attached to a string, and hung around your neck.

A battery-operated hotel room intruder alarm is a great hotel room safety device. There are two types of these alarms. One alarm hangs on the room’s door knob. Any slight movement of the door knob or door will trigger the alarm. Another alarm is the doorstop kind which you can push under the door’s bottom edge. If someone tries to open the door, the alarm will go off.

Women travelers can get an innovative security purse that has a steel cable sewn into the strap. This will foil a thief who attempts to cut through the strap and tries to take off with their purse.

Easy to inflate, easy to carry, the pocket pillow measures approximately 6″ x 4″ x 1″. It inflates to about 19″ x 15″, and makes a comfortable pillow when you need to rest your head or sleep.

Always protect your eyes from the tropical sun when traveling by wearing sunglasses that carry both a UVA as well as a UVB certified protection label.

A neat little book light that clamps on to the edge of your book will enable you to conveniently read in dim light or in total darkness. It also allows you to read in the dark and not disturb your sleeping travel companion.

If you like to wear a backpack you should consider a steel-mesh equipped backpack. These security backpacks have a steel mesh that is sewn in the bottom and sides, the vulnerable places where a thief could slash it with a knife. If this happens, everything will tumble out, and the thief and his accomplices can grab anything of valuable and run away in different directions.

You should keep in mind that you will probably need adaptor plugs and converters if you are traveling to certain countries.

One large travel accessories store, Magellan’s, has an award-winning catalogue that has everything for travelers from adaptor and connector plugs to secret security wallets. You can order a catalogue online, at Magellans.com

Tilley Endurables, a legendary manufacturer of sun-protective travel clothing and accessories, created the world-famous Tilley Hat. They specialize in making stylish, comfortable, and practical outdoor hats and travel clothing. Most fabrics they use in manufacturing their hats and clothing carry a certified UPF 50 rated label, which is the highest rating for sun protection available. You can get their sun-protective clothing and accessories catalogue by going to their website, at Tilleys.com.

In these days of faster everything, including faster and larger commercial airliners where passengers are packed in like sardines, one thing remains constant. That’s the wonderful and leisurely world of cruising. For many years the troubled airline industry has experienced many setbacks, while the cruise industry has been growing by leaps and bounds. There are many reasons why you should consider being a part of this amazing phenomenon. Here are some.

According to recent research from the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), ninety-five percent of cruisers give top marks to their cruising experience and more than seventy-five percent plan to cruise again within three years.

Contrary to what some people might think, cruises are very affordable. With most vacations you end up paying for air flights, hotels or resorts, restaurants, entertainment, and sometimes car rentals. If you add all these costs up, cruises can be a real bargain. When you book a cruise, in most cases you pay for the airfare and cruise. However, if you live close enough to your cruise ship departure port, you may be able to drive there much cheaper than you can fly.

Even if you do have to fly to the departure port you can always get a flight and cruise package which is usually less expensive than buying your flight and cruise separately. You will save even more money as your lodging, restaurant meals, and entertainment are also included.

When you book a luxury cruise holiday, well over 85% of your vacation is prepaid and that includes all meals, movies, night clubs, stage shows, and entertainment, as well as many other activities and amenities. In addition, most ships have onboard activities such as rock climbing, golf, climbing, dancing, swimming, scuba diving lessons which can lead to certification, Pilates, yoga, and fitness trainers. You can also treat yourself to relaxing spas and body massages.

Another way to save big bucks on a cruise is to book an inside cabin. If you do not need to have a cabin with a balcony or ocean view, then you will save a lot of money. You have use of all the shared amenities that your fellow passengers have, but it’s costing you a lot less.

You can also save big bucks on repositioning cruises. A repositioning cruise happens at certain times of the year, usually in the spring and fall, when cruise lines move their ships from one part of the world to another.

There is a large variety of luxury cruise vacations to choose from, ranging from three day mini cruises to several month long cruises as well as an amazing around the world cruise odyssey.

When you’re cruising, you are traveling in the lap of luxury in a floating five-star hotel. You will be pampered and feel like you are living the life of a king or queen, not just for a day, but for every day of the cruise. Gourmet dining, elegant surroundings and impeccable service are only a few of the superlatives that can be used to describe cruising.

If you like delicious food you’ll absolutely love the gourmet meals and scrumptious desserts prepared by fantastic chefs and served in a variety of restaurants. There are also incredible buffets available throughout the day and even midnight buffets. There are a number of themed lounges that are located throughout each ship for your convenience.

Love watching Broadway style shows as well as theater performances without having to make reservations or pay exorbitant prices for tickets? Then going on a cruise is the answer. There are so many things that are included on cruises which make them such an incredible value for your travel and entertainment dollar.

From children to great grandparents, there’s always something to interest everyone on a cruise. You have the option of being as active as you like or you can just relax and experience breathtaking sunrises and sunsets while watching the world go by. So many wonderful and precious memories will stay with you a lifetime when you take a luxury cruise.

Like to party around the clock? No problem. Whether you are with a partner or single, it is always party time. You don’t even have to plan the party or clean up after it, just have a lot of fun!

Businesses from all over the world book conferences, seminars, team building get-togethers, product launches and employee reward vacation cruises. Cruise lines don’t charge extra for conference room facilities and use of audio/video equipment.

Group cruises aren’t only for corporations and business people. Family reunions, weddings and honeymoons, sports clubs and groups, charities and fund raisers are only some of the numerous types of groups that hold their events on cruises.

On cruises there is no hassle of having to pack and unpack again and again every time you travel to a new destination. Another bonus is that there is no limit on the amount of luggage you can bring on a cruise.

People with disabilities should have no problem getting around on a cruise ship. Cruise lines have made onboard accessibility a non-issue as their ships are equipped with ramps, elevators and easily accessible cabins and state rooms.

Modern cruise ships have drastically reduced the problem concerning seasickness. Today’s larger ships cut through the waves instead of riding on the top of them. Also, new and innovative technologies like stabilizers and counterbalancing systems have greatly reduced the pitch and roll of cruise ships, all but neutralizing problems with seasickness.

A doctor and medical staff are never more than minutes away on a cruise ship should any passenger have to see doctor. Most common passenger minor mishaps and ailments occur less on cruise ships than on shore.

Cruising is one of the safest forms of travel. The cruise industry has an excellent record of safety. And as far as robberies and assaults are concerned, they are over a hundred times less likely to happen on a cruise ship than in your own home town.

For people who have a fear of flying or are not fond of being crammed like sardines into commercial airplanes when traveling to their destinations, here is some great news. The cruise lines in the U.S. A. are making terrific headway catering to cruise passengers needs. They are opening up more ports of call on both the West and East coasts so more and more people who would love to take a cruise but don’t care for flying, can easily drive or take a bus or train to most departure ports.

To quickly locate and book cheap cruises, at the lowest price possible, every time you feel like traveling, go to Travel Tips Guide, for more info.

Every year, millions of people choose to rent a car whether for business or pleasure. Because there are so many car hire agency offering a wide range of prices and options, it can be a time consuming and frustrating experience trying to get a good deal. Fortunately, there are a number of things you can do to narrow down your search and end up with a great deal. Below are a number of tips on finding rental car bargains:

1. If you wait until the last few days to rent a car, chances are you will find a good deal. It is important to start a few weeks before your rental date so you have enough time to thoroughly research your options and get a good rate. As well, you want to make sure that your preferred car is available for rent. Also, starting early allows you to comparison shop. The internet is a great source to research car rental companies and comparison shop.

2. Before you search for a rental company, determine how long you will be renting a car. The longer you rent a car, the better rate you will get. Companies will usually offer better rates if you rent for a week or more. There are also certain days of the week where one can get a better rate. For instance, most companies will offer special weekend rates.

3. When researching car rental companies, it is important to find out their minimum mileage for free program before they start charging for each mile driven. Mileage rates can vary and the minimum mileage for free can also vary. If you will be doing a lot of driving, make sure you go with a rental company that offers a high mileage minimum for free. Also, check to see what the mileage rates are as they can vary. If you find a bargain, book the car, and then keep searching in case you find a better deal. Make sure you understand their cancellation policy so that if you do cancel your reservation, you will not end up paying a cancellation fee.

4. Because the internet has many car rental companies competing for your business, look for companies that offer special discounts and incentives. For instance, there are companies that will offer discounts if you make your reservation online. If booking online, make sure you read all of the terms and conditions. If you have any concerns or questions, contact the company by phone for clarification. Also, look for coupon or promotion codes to put into the booking form on the company’s site.

5. Check with your credit card company to see if they have any special deals with rental companies. As well, if you are a member of AAA or AARP, you can often get a discount on your car rental. You can also check with your employer to see if they will let you reserve your car through them and get an employee rate. Your auto insurance provider may also provide discounts on car rental rates.

Before you book your rental, it is important to always read the fine print of the rental contract. There may be a number of hidden fees and taxes causing the price to drastically increase. There may be some services that you do not need. If you carefully research your options, you will likely get a great bargain on your next car rental.

Discount truck and car rental Sydney Australia provides free express pickup service from our many locations for your personal, business or holiday car hire sydney.

Whether you have taken air flights for business, or vacations and holidays, you may have lost luggage or know someone that has. Here are a few travel tips that can help you reduce this risk.

Whether you have taken air flights for business, or vacations and holidays, you may have lost luggage or know someone that has. Here are a few travel tips that can help you reduce this risk.

It has been estimated that more than a million bags are lost by the airlines each year in the U.S. alone. How many bags get lost in the whole world is anybody’s guess. Here are a few tips that might help you find your bags should they get lost.

Attach a couple of tags with your name, home address, and phone number to the handle and zipper-pulls of every bag that you are checking. There’s less of a chance that every tag could get torn off when in transit. Make sure that you’ve taken off any old airline tags that are still on your luggage as they could confuse the baggage handlers.

Also, you should place the same contact information, including a copy of your itinerary and destination address inside each your bags. Then, if they do go astray and are found in time, it’s possible that they could be forwarded to your hotel.

Pick luggage with a bright or odd color that will stand out among the numerous black and brown bags. Know the brand name of the luggage that you have and attach a colorful ribbon or scarf to the handle to make identification easier. Stick some decals or a contrasting colored tape to every side of the bags so they are easier to spot as the carousel goes around. Try to remember these details, or better still, take a photo of your luggage just before you go and bring it with you. This can help the lost luggage staff at the airport in locating your bags if they are lost in transit and show up at their office. It will also help when you have to make a claim.

It can help if you make a list of what you have in your luggage and carry that list in you carry-on bag. The chance of your checked luggage getting lost in transit increases when you have delayed, or connecting flights. Pack your valuables, including your laptop or Blackberry, travel documents, prescriptions, etc., in your carry-on luggage. It’s best to pack only the things you can afford to lose in your checked baggage. Analysts believe the airline industry’s problem of lost luggage is not going to go away anytime soon.

What can you do your luggage gets lost?

Go right away to the baggage claim office and file a claim. Many airlines have a twenty-four hour window of time that starts from when your flight arrives to file and be eligible for compensation. You will get a claim receipt to check the tracking of your luggage with your airline by phone, or on the airline’s website. Make sure you keep your flight documents until the lost luggage mix up has been resolved.

How can you guarantee that your luggage will not be lost by the airlines?

There are some companies like FedEx, UPS or DHL, that can send your luggage in the U.S. directly to your hotel or street address for a very reasonable cost. If you’re staying at a hotel, your luggage will be taken to your room by a bellboy. When you consider that in the United States alone, over a million bags are lost by the airlines each year, this service is well worth considering. If you are planning to travel by air throughout Europe, FirstLuggage.com, provides a similar service.

Gatwick airport is London’s second biggest airport. It is the 8th largest (by passenger traffic) airport in Europe, and is one of the top 30 busiest airports in the world. It also has the single busiest runway in the world.

Though it is a relatively old airport, it has been regularly modernized, and just recently they announced a further one billion pound investment would be made in improving their infrastructure. Airport officials remain firmly convinced that this investment might even help them surpass the famous Heathrow in terms of amenities and passenger accessibility, and demonstrate the airport’s commitment to continued quality.

Though Gatwick has always been considered a ‘lesser’ airport than Heathrow, this is due to the merits of the latter rather than any shortcomings in the former. Indeed, Gatwick airport has a history that warrants more attention than it is generally given…

#1 – Architectural Advances

In 1936, Gatwick unveiled the world’s first circular airport terminal, dubbed the Beehive. Though they are commonplace these days, it was an extraordinary achievement for the time. There was a rail link directly to the terminal, and for the first time passengers could directly board their aircraft instead of having to travel across the runway on foot or by bus. While passengers today might take the combined approach for granted, it all began at Gatwick and set the stage for future endeavors.

#2 – Private Fliers

Gatwick was not originally build to be a public airport. In the 20′s and 30′s, for example, it was a private flying club controlled by Ronald Waters. The Surrey Aero Club used their growing prestige to promote interest in flying in general, and helped contribute to the continued growth of the airfield, to the point that Gatwick received its first commercial flying licenses in 1934.

#3 – The Queen Of England

Gatwick has been graced on two separate occasions with a Royal presence at important opening ceremonies. Queen Elizabeth II first attended to re-open the airport after it underwent a major redevelopment in 1956, and she returned thirty years later with her husband Prince Phillip to preside over the opening of the new North Terminal.

#4 – World War II

The second World War saw Gatwick become primarily a military airport, to aid Britain with its air to air combat against the deadly German air-force. Gatwick participated when it was requisitioned by the RAF as a combat airfield, and provided service to a number of important operations necessary to keeping England’s skies clear of bombers.

The Garden Route is one of the most popular tourist attractions in South Africa. It is located in the South Western region of the country and is geographically named the South Western District. It’s also called the Garden Route because it is situated in the ‘Garden’ of the country surrounded by dense forest and indigenous flora which is only found in this part of the world.

Possessing a natural beauty which is not uncommon with South African towns; Knysna and George are the 2 most famous towns along the garden route with an abundance of tourist attractions. One very subjective point is that of local’s perception that much of the inherent beauty has been lost due to developments keeping up with the influx of tourism. The region retains its beauty despite the man made improvements.

Flight time from Cape Town to George is less than an hour and feels like a few minutes. Taking the national N2 road, the journey is a pleasant five to six hours. By sea, the trip would take twice as long but almost twice as pleasing.

In recent years the region has become very famous for hosting the world’s largest or longest mountain biking event called the Cape Epic. The off road cycling event lasts for five days and takes riders through numerous stages along the garden route region. Another very famous or iconic point in region is that it hosts or is the location of the longest bungee jump in the world on the Storms River Bridge near Knysna.

Beacon Isle is a very popular tourist destination in Plettenberg Bay near George. Besides the natural occurring beauty in the surrounding forests; the area also boasts some of the most delicious beaches in the country ripe for sun bathing, swimming and surfing. A few hours from Knysna is Jeffries Bay which is an international mecca for surfers such as Kelly Slater and Taj Burrows.

Another attraction are the amazing game parks where visitors come to see the big five. Often, elephants which are indigenous to the area walk freely and during history have been brought back or reduced in number. This region is also the location of the Otter hiking trail where there is a long waiting list for hikers.

For an experience not to be forgotten visit the amazing Garden Route Tour. Check out www.kingdom.co.za for the best deals on Cape Town tours.

The season to search for cheap ski deals is an important factor to be considered. You would be able to get good deals in the winter than in summer, as it snows heavily in winters. The sport which uses the instrument Ski is called as Skiing. This is famous in the cold countries which has snowing in the winter and is considered as a winter game. Today, these sports are very common in the upper middle and the upper class of the society. Most of the corporate employees look at these sports as a way of chilling out after having worked very hard for a long time.

Now the good news is that such kind of “rich man’s” sports are not the privilege of rich people only. Cheap ski deals to the rescue! Now what are these cheap ski deals? So step one would be to avoid the peak season. Some tips you can follow to get a cheap ski deal are the following stated

One can keep looking until they get the deal that is suitable to them. You need to choose the ski expedition that is cheap and also the best on the day you are planning to go on an expedition. Lot of resorts and hotels even offer rooms separately for the people who are looking for better deals.

It is better to bring your own ski to the expedition as you are used to it and while it costs money in airport you still can save compared to the rental on a new ski.

If you have this habit of visiting only one spot better stop that and start looking for better ones and cheaper ones. Always keep your eyes wide open.

The cheap ski deals are not offered separately. They are offered as an accompaniment in most of the tour packages. The cost tends to be higher when these deals are offered separately.

An agent can help you in finding the best and the cheap ski deal whenever you want. This is due to the fact that the agents tend to buy a lot of skiing tickets for huge amounts. Since they may not sell all of the tickets they have bought, sometimes they sell them cheap to make profit.

Therefore, you need to choose the right deal and end up in a snow blast.

Millions of tourists from all over the world head towards Cambodia to spend their vacations to explore the mystical southeastern nation. Battambang, the north-western province of Cambodia, is known for structures with fabulous designs and breathtaking architecture and this distinction in architecture acts as a primary reason why people from all parts of the world are attracted to it. The legend of King Kranhoung’s staff is associated with the name ‘Battambang’ which literally means ‘loss of stick’ and refers to the story which says that after being thrown the King’s staff landed in this region.

Built during the reign of King ‘Soriyak Varman I’ starting from year 1002 to 1050, the Ba Set Temple stands tall on top of a hill in Ba Set village. The beautiful temple which was completed in 1042 is located around 15 kilometers away from Ta Pune commune. Ba Set temple is an excellent specimen of 11th Century architecture with distinct French influences. A nearby lake which is 10 meters deep in normal weather also adds to beauty and is an attractive spot for tourists.

Another structure having French style of architecture is the Wat Ek Temple which was built in the 11th Century and is a place that every tourist loves to visit. The Wat Ek Temple was completed by King Sorayak Varman I in 1027 and you can reach it from the provincial capital after a drive of 14 kilometers.

As opposed to Wat Ek Temple and Ba Set Temple which are unique examples of 11th Century structures, the Ba Nan Temple’s architecture has a great mix of designs associated with two separate Centuries as it was started in the later half of 11th Century by King Ut Tak Yea Tit Tya Varman II until it the building was finally completed in the 12th Century under King Jayavarman VII. You can visit the Ba Nan District in order to view the magnificent Ba Nan Temple easily from Battambang city as the distance is merely 15 kilometers. Reaching Ba Nan Temple is nothing short of a mini adventure as you have to climb the 400 meters high Koh Tey 2 commune on top of which the temple stands. Historians and archaeologists consider Ba Set Temple, Sa Nana Temple and Wat Ek Temple as three invaluable pieces of art and architecture accurately manifesting a Buddhist worship place.

Apart from the traditional temples, Cambodia also contains a great tourist attraction in the shape of three stupas located in Snung Pagoda commune on a hill about 22 kilometers away from Battambang city. When you go to have a look at these three beautiful stupas, you’ll notice that the design of gates has a touch of 12th Century architecture.

In order to see the natural side of Cambodia, the Sek Sak resort is a perfect place for tourists to visit. The entertainment resort full of all kinds of trees is located along side the River bank and covers an area of more than 500 meters. Situated with the National road in the Sam Puoy commune is yet another resort which helps you appreciate the natural beauty in the north-western province of Cambodia. If you have a liking for temples, the Phnom Sam Puoy resort is just the place to be, moreover, three amazing natural wells are also to be found there and you can even visit the neighboring mountains which have the Reach Kol Neang Rum Say Sork legend associated with them.

Cambodia’s cultural roots originate deep into ancient history, the signs of which can be found in its architecture and all of this gives you a great mix of culture, tradition and hospitability. Cambodia offers something for everyone as from large Buddhist temples to serene countryside; the tourists find this country as an ideal spot to spend their vacations, in particular, the Battambang province.

Elk, also named Wapiti, is one of the largest deer species in North America. The sole deer species which is larger is the Moose in the United States. Linked to the red deer in Europe, Elk is massive game that will make for fantastic hunting trips.

Elk, also alluded to as Wapiti, is one of the largest deer species in United States. The only real deer species which is bigger is the Moose in the United States. Linked to the red deer in Europe, Elk is massive game that can lead to challenging hunting trips.

Elk love to stay near forest edges as well as feed on bark, plants, tree leaves, grass, and other vegetation. Elk need about 10-15 pounds of vegetation every day to remain healthy and also have been proven to roam a 100 square mile area in search of delicious vegetation.

The stronger buck is one which will acquire courting privileges with the neighborhood cow, and often the loser will certainly retreat to be alone. Occasionally, two bucks battle to the death in these courting rituals. The truth is, bucks have also been known to lock antlers during sparring (antler wrestling) and starve to death as a result.

Each year the males will lose their antlers but will grow a new rack. Starting off in spring, the bulls grow a new rack and shed the old one over the winter season. Cultures from Japan see the elk like a highly spiritual animal and use their velvet along with antlers as old fashioned medicines.

There are 6 species of elk in America and a total of 4 in Asia. Antler size, body weight, color and other features vary from each species.

American Elk populations are thicker in the northwestern part of the United States but include smaller sized populations throughout the Appalachian area. Elk can be an invasive animal and may even dominate an area with ideal habitat very quickly. Elk were reintroduced in Appalachian regions in February, 2001 by the Smokey Mountain National Park Service, and also have since spread into Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Virginia. Elk roam in larger population from Texas all the way into Canadian northwest. Elk migrate with the season and often stick to melting snow areas for the revealed exposed grass.

The majority of the finest elk hunting can be found in the Colorado area and the Rockies. Make sure to be sensible and keep your eyes wide open, a angry elk isn’t no petite deer to play with. Having a rack as wide as your car a big elk can inflict some serious damage on you if you get too close.
